Let's STRENGTHEN the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to become similar to the existing, highly successful systems enjoyed by our European and Canadian friends, whereby for-profit health insurance companies are COMPLETELY taken out of the system. The Supreme Court has allowed the mandate (for required contributions into the pool) to stand, so let's take advantage of this and modify the ACA to emulate the European health-care system.
Mandated contributions have an excellent track record in such areas as automobile and life insurance, where protection is good and premiums are affordable. The current ACA does not go far enough to allow small business owners and individual purchasers of health-care to experience this type of model.
