We are delighted that your ambassador at the UN is pushing the Security Council to place more sanctions against the Eritrean government. This latest call for sanctions, like the one in 2009 will serve more to the people of Eritrea who are denied the basic human rights by the dictatorial regime of the country. This is the only way our people as well as our neighbors can get the peace they deserve. It will bring stability to the Horn of Africa.
We believe this is the right solution to end the misery of the Eritrean people and its neighbors. We strongly urge your administration to strengthen the existing sanctions and prolong the sanctions that were imposed in 2009.
