We petition to reform the Medicare compensation system to healthcare providers. As part of this petition, we would like to see mid-level practitioners such as Physicians Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives to be able to bill directly for the services they provide. This is turn could increase access to healthcare services and primary healthcare nationwide.
Further, in some situations it would be beneficial for Registered Nurses to be able to bill directly.
In the above circumstances doing this would relieve some of the strain on today's healthcare system and in many instances help facilitate under-employed healthcare professionals to create their own opportunities while providing a valuable and needed service to the communities they serve.
