The Obama administration must raise the required overtime threshold under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This protection for workers has been degraded by inflation and lack of executive action. Increasing this standard would provide more family time and/or more money for hard working Americans. It would also encourage businesses to hire more workers, which would drive down unemployment and create economic demand due to fuller employment.
