Strengthen our Democracy by Encouraging Participatory Budgeting

Created by B.L. on April 29, 2014

Participatory budgeting is a grassroots budgeting process that gives members of the community a chance to vote on how their tax dollars are spent. The result is a more democratic, transparent, and equitable distribution of government funds that can replace the backroom horse-trading that dominates our current budgeting structures.

President Obama, please come out in support of New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio's participatory budgeting initiatives. As an up-and-coming grassroots movement, we need all the support we can get.
