Our public education system is under assault from lack of funding, unaccountable charter schools, and out-of-control standardized testing being used to punish schools and teachers.
We need to stop incentivizing schools to teach to the test and emphasize critical thinking skills.
We have failing schools because we have failing communities suffering from poverty. Stop scape-goating educators for failed corporatist/economic/prizatization policies! Stop the union busting, Secretary Duncan and President Obama! We should value teacher experience and small class sizes for all children, not just the children of wealthy people.
A strong public education system creates more equality of opportunity in America. Void NCLB and Race to the Top!
