Sex Trafficking is currently the fastest growing and second largest criminal enterprise in the world. We believe that by issuing a nation wide punishment, the growth of the sex trafficking industry will slow down in the U.S. The U.S. is one of the highest ranked countries for sex trafficking, and it is due to the fact that different states have different laws against this issue. It has been shown that states with stricter laws against sex trafficking have lower rates of it occurring. To decrease the rate of sex trafficking, we believe that when a trafficker is caught it should be required in every state that an investigation on how many victims he or she owns take place. The time that the trafficker must serve should depend on the number of victims and the severity of the situation.
