Institute a bill for consideration asking for stricter background checks and mental health exams before a citizen is allowed to purchase a firearm or have a license to own firearms. Even individuals in favor of gun ownership agree that there is no reason for there to not be backgrounds checks at gun shows. Responsible gun owners would rather see the government have legislation in place to enforce safer, educated gun ownership amongst the general public.
