Stricter Gun Control Laws and Less Military Grade Firearms in Private Use

Created by L.M. on January 18, 2013

Our country has one of the highest number of gun deaths per year in the world. I feel that 11,000 Americans dying a year due to firearms is a huge tragedy that we face on an annual basis, but that can be stopped. There is a huge difference between a hunting rifle and an M16 designed solely to kill. I know what the Second Ammendment says, but in my opinion that is why we have Congress, to change laws that are the result of archaic thinking to adapt to the evolving world. I do not reallistically see the point of people owning assault rifles and other military firearms. These types of weapons should only be used by people trained to do so and who have valid reasons for possesing them, like the police and the army. Sign here for a safer America.
