On Friday, January 18, 2013, Barak Obama's "campaign" was announced that it will now be known as "Obama For America", and it will hold a not for profit status. This is the first time a sitting president has turned his campaign into a tax-exempt, not for profit organization.
Under not for profit classification, "Obama For America" DOES NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE ITS CONTRIBUTORS OR THE AMOUNT CONTRIBUTED. Not for profit organizations are EXEMPT from the FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT.
I, for one, am EXTREMELY uncomfortable with not knowing how much resources "Obama For America" has available, and not knowing where the money is coming from is very unsettling. We cannot allow this.
