In the past few days, the government of Ukraine has imposed a series of harsh new laws clearly intended to restrict the rights of opponents of the current leadership.

The protection of basic democratic rights in all countries is of paramount importance and the United States should be at the forefront in assuring that free citizens world wide should not be subjected to oppressive laws that violate those rights.
Please urge President Obama to strongly condemn this action and to consider other measures against the current government of the Ukraine.
