Strongly encourage the entertainment industry to reduce the production of violence in movies and other media.

Created by R.M. on April 14, 2013

Children live what they learn. In a culture that markets violence in movies, video games, etc. produces an ad hoc acceptance of this behavior. What is needed, rather than more legislation, is that our leaders help strongly encourage the media to reduce the glorification and inclusion of graphic violence in their craft. While we all have freedom of speech as guaranteed by our constitution, there is a social responsibility to use that freedom wisely. Children are influenced by their environment and what they learn in life does influence their behaviors. A key is that there is a lack of respect for one another which is a can lead to abnormal and violence. What does our media, government, and society teach children about respect and violence?
