Strongly encourage states to require long-range, potent pepper spray in every classroom for public safety.

Created by S.C. on December 15, 2012

President Obama and the Congress should immediately pass legislation strongly encouraging all states to require public school classrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias and other places where students gather, to be supplied with long-range, potent pepper spray.

In addition, all school staff will receive annual training on how and when to properly deploy pepper spray.

While we can't all agree on gun control, pepper spray is a non-lethal, yet immediate way to neutralize a threat. True, some children and staff could be harmed in the short-term by pepper spray, but long-term effects are few.

Pepper spray could've been used at several of the recent public mass shootings to quickly neutralize the assailant and limit the loss of life. Schools are a great place to start.
