strongly incentivize domestic civilian nuclear power asset operation and new build to combat climate change.

Created by T.S. on October 05, 2014

Exisiting domestic energy policy is resulting in the closure of many nuclear power plants and the subsequent expansion of natural gas as a replacement baseload source. Natural gas, while currently plentiful, is inherently price unstable and historically unreliable in periods of high demand. Additionally, natural gas still produces large emissions compared to nuclear power and will thusly continue contributing to climate change. Nuclear power has the added benefit of establishment energy security for our country, and requires no huge pipeline projects or widespread hydraulic fracturing operations. Nuclear plants are remarkably safe and low-incident as compared to all other power sources. The loss of this generating capacity is unacceptable and endangers our climate and our security.
