Senator Dianne Feinstein has announced that a piece of Day One legislation for the new Congress will be a pair of bills in the House and Senate that will reinstitute the 1994 assault weapons ban, updated for today. This legislation protects the rights of gun owners, but also limits the availability of military-style assault rifles and high-capacity magazines. Please come out strongly, both to Congress and to the American people, on this necessary part of the overall solution to gun violence in America.
