Student Loan Forgiveness for Veterans

Created by T.M. on October 17, 2016

According to the LA Times Analysis of Department of Education Data, 26% of undergraduates receiving Veteran education benefits have taken on student loan debt to pay for their education and living expenses. Create a program that would provide Veteran specific student loan forgiveness similar to the current loan forgiveness program. Make it available to all veterans that served on active duty for a minimum of 180 days, have received an Honorable Discharge and have made at least 60 payments (half of what is required under the current loan forgiveness program). Apply this to all student loans not only Direct loans.
