Student Loan Payment Tax Credit/Deduction

Created by S.S. on December 21, 2014

Inasmuch as student loan debt is at historic levels and climbing, with no relief in sight, we call upon the President to encourage the passage of a bill to make the total amount of student loan payments -- interest as well as principal -- a tax credit. Failing that, a tax deduction as a qualified educational expense. At the very least, as a miscellaneous deduction (job expense) subject to the 2% rule. In no case should there be an arbitrary limit that is not income-sensitive.
