The recent changes and reforms to student loans was helpful but it was not enough. This petition calls for a massive loan forgiveness program that would forgive 100% of all student loan debt taken out prior to December 31, 2012. This forgiveness would treat all loans taken out prior to this date as equal and their would be no special requirements nor circumstances to have the loans forgiven. The loans could be public or private include all types and levels of loan programs. The forgiven loan would not be taxed by the IRS. Additional, reform would include bankruptcy protection for federal or private student loans and an effort on the department of education to respect the laws set by congress and or the president of the United States.
