I urge you to study the correlation between strong gun control laws and increased violent crime. Chicago has very strict gun control as does Washington D.C. and they are some of the most dangerous cities in the nation. England is another example. They have very strict gun control, yet although their gun crime rates are down, their violent crime rates are up.
Not everyone is a master of self defense. It is much easier and more effective to be able to defend yourself with a firearm.
I support some regulation, however I want to be able to be as well armed, if not better armed, as a person who is trying to do me harm who is not paying attention to those regulations.
