I recently saw a post on a social media site about the courtship ritual amongst certain penguins, Once the male penguin spots a female penguin he falls in love with, he will search for the perfect pebble to give her as his sign of love. Now this all seems very fast paced to me and not at all sound judgment, Look at humans, we spend months if not years courting a potential mate and we can see how well that turns out 50% divorce rate and then all the other cases of spousal murder/suicide. I petition we conduct a study into the murder rate amongst penguins that court by picking some random female and giving her a pebble as a sign of love compared to the rate amongst humans and our more sensible traditions of courtship. This will prove which sides courtship is better. The end.
