Slow down the 80,000 pounds tractor trailor trucks driving at 79 mph on our interstate highways. If we put back into place a max speed 60 mph for only tractor trailers, not cars, they would slow down to 69 on our interstates. This will lower their rpm of their engines to 1400 and save 17% of their fuel, times over 800,000 trucks consuming over 100 gallons each per day, which equals over 13 million gallons everyday. There are over 5,000 fatal accidents each year involving a big rig and a car, 98% of the fatal deaths are by persons in the cars. Slow down the big rigs, lower fuel prices for everyone and save some lives! Cars have been updated to cruise at these speeds but Kenworths, Peterbilts, Freighliners, Mack, and International trucks are now burning at 5.5 miles per gallon. Please sign
