Similar to the "Stupid Motorist Law," on days of extreme heat, hiking would be banned. If people choose to hike on those ban days and need to be rescued due to the extreme heat, they would be required to pay for their rescue. Many people have died while hiking in the extreme heat, and others have suffered severe injuries. This law would protect hikers from potential harm and would also conserve rescue personnel. Several people have died this year alone due to hiking in the extreme heat. Help prevent another life from being lost to the Arizona heat.
