The media says police officers have turned off their body mounted cameras in recent cases, which has been leading to speculation and conspiracy against local law enforcement. Some of these have led to protest and even riots. If people know the truth and can see solid video evidence, then people will be able to better understand the actions of law enforcement and the justice system. If wearing body-worn cameras is mandatory, then the camera should be recording video for the entire time the officer is on duty. It is unacceptable for them to be turned off for any reason. For every minute of time that an officer is on duty, there should be a minute of recorded video. If recorded time is missing, then the responsible party should be fined $100 for each missing minute of video.
