In President Obama's inauguration speech he said, "Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law. For if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well."
President Obama has no plan regarding changing the rights of gay people. It is time to end the rhetoric and immediately send a bill to Congress to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and to require all states to recognize legal unions and marriages of individuals that occurred in other states just as they do the marriages between men and women.
There is no excuse for the administration not addressing this immediately instead of allowing the courts to decide the fate of DOMA as they did DADT.
