Based on judicial interpretation of the 14th amendment, we now have a society in which the rights of corporations are held above those of individuals. This is illustrated in our political campaign laws, through the national bail-out of the banks while homeowners were left twisting in the wind, and in the current HSBC fiasco where no corporate brass are being prosecuted.
We need a constitutional amendment that clearly delineates a "person" as an individual and spells out that any business is an organization that has been established for the express purpose of making money and is not considered to have the same rights as an individual.
