This petition would raise the Federal Minimum Wage to $12.50 per hour over the next three years. Each year the FMW would be increased by $1.75 per hour until it is $12.50 per hour and that the FMW be adjusted for inflation and the cost of living so that people will not loose any purchasing power.
By raising the FMW we can reduce poverty rates, increase consumer spending and business profits, create more jobs, raise more State and Federal revenues and reduce the number of our fellow Americans who need Public Assistance.
