It has been awhile since America has done a great project with long term positive advantages domestically like-- Hoover dam, highway system, Tennessee valley authority, etc..
It appears water is going to be a problem into the future and we need a good fence along our border with Mexico. I propose we combine two projects. We should build a water desalination plant in Southern California near the border then run the main pipeline along the border all the way to Texas stopping around Loving County forming a lake. Water would be used in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, etc. and could be sold to Mexico. As the pipeline is being built a substantial border fence would be created to protect the pipeline and our border. Unemployed Americans should be hired to build the pipeline.
