Submit legislation to freeze, or cancel, the pay of all Senators and Congressmen in the event of a government shutdown!

Created by J.W. on September 24, 2013

In the event that our representatives in Congress and the Senate do not negotiate and avoid a government shutdown on October 1st, 2013, the people of the United States of America should insist that their earnings for the period of shutdown be canceled, or frozen. There should be an additional requirement that they will not be paid any back-pay until all affected federal employees are provided the same benefit. After enduring a 3-year pay freeze and the 2013 furloughs, it is time we show those working for our nation's benefit that they are appreciated. Can you imagine having to rely on the Congress working together to avoid losing 100% of your pay? The recent victims at the Washington Navy Yard can. Show these guys how it feels and give them some motivation to start doing their jobs. USA!
