Submit legislation to stop the use of the use of Thrift Savings Plan employee holdings during budget issues.

Created by S.L. on January 17, 2013

The department of the treasury uses employee holdings in the thrift saving plan in advance of debt ceiling issues. Treasury does not issue securities used for the g fund in tsp. this allows treasury not to record obligations to the fund. It is an unfunded pension liability. This is not a gov't trust fund but employee money. Legislation should be enacted to stop this practice.
