Submit the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to the Senate in order to combat the crime of genocide.

Created by B.D. on November 17, 2012

At the end of WWII, the allies, shocked by the brutality of the Nazis and their genocide, vowed that they would never again. Over half a century later, not much has changed. From the mass killings in Cambodia by the Khmer Rouge to the frenzied killings of the Tutsi people by the Hutu in Rwanda to the Ethnic cleansing in the Balkans to the crimes against humanity in Sudan and Uganda, dictators kill millions while the international community does nothing. In 1998, the world met in Rome to create a new court to prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes. Although the product of these talks, the International Criminal Court, has been active for a decade now, they have operated largely without US support. Its time to change this and join the court.
