The Obama administration sponsored the bipartisan Simpson-Bowles Commission to propose how to reduce the Federal debt and deficit. The commission's proposal was a balanced approach to this critical issue with reductions in entitlement programs and increased revenue to the federal government. It asked for sacrifices from many people and was a fair and practical approach to a national problem. Since the unveiling of the proposal, nothing has been done. This petition asks the Obama administration submit the proposal to Congress, unchanged, for an up or down vote.
