Subsidize and Provide Tax Breaks for the Visual Effects Industry in Los Angeles

Created by S.C. on February 22, 2013

The Los Angeles entertainment industry as a whole has been losing thousands of jobs, hundreds of millions of dollars annually as film and television productions are made out of state, country and overseas to benefit of tax breaks and other subsidies. While creating and maintaining these relationships is mutually beneficial, we are doing it at the cost of our own highly skilled, talented, innovative people who we share land and pay taxes with. The most obvious and profound consequences are seen with the closures and threat of bankruptcy of our award-winning local visual effects companies who cannot afford to stay open.

This is a petition to the White House to create incentives to keep our visual effects houses open and grow related entertainment industry jobs in California
