Free condoms are readily available almost everywhere, even though sex is not a compulsory act. Most women, however, have to have a period, and pay roughly $60 a year for feminine hygiene products like tampons and maxi pads. This may not seem like much, but for women from lower-income families, that's money that could be better put toward other groceries, especially food and other toiletries.
I would ask that the government consider subsidizing the cost of feminine hygiene products so that women from lower-income families don't have to worry about something they can't help: their periods.
