Dear President Obama,
Please reduce the amount of subsidies for crops that use strong herbicides such as Glyphosate, or strong pesticides (including crops that produce their own pesticides), and put that subsidy money towards a large variety of organic crops. Reasons:
•Due to excessive chemical use, there is essentially a coating of pesticides and herbicides covering the country. This is impacting our environment and our health.
•Creating a greater variety of crops would make a broad range of vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals (essential to our health) more affordable. Subsidizing just a few crops does not offer the same necessary range of nutrients.
•Everyone deserves organic food. As a species, we did not evolve to eat (and breath and drink) pesticides and herbicides.
