suggest Indian government to pass a legislation lifting the gay sex ban

Created by N.A. on December 11, 2013

A Ruling on Thursday, July 2 2009 overturned a 148-year old colonial law which described a same-sex relationship as an "unnatural offence". This was a major relief for homosexuals in India who could finally come out of hiding from the society. Now that society started to accept them government reinitiated the ban. One can easily see that those who came out of hiding will be targeted by the society. This could be lethal to some of them.

President Barack Obama once publicly affirmed his support for legalization of same-sex marriage. He should not mind suggesting Indian government that it will be a good idea to lift the ban on same-sex relationship which is currently punishable by up to ten years or life imprisonment.
