September 21 is the International Day of Peace as established by the unanimously ratified UN Resolution A Res 55/282 of 9/07/2001.
September 21 is the national day of peace. The US Senate Menendez Resolution of 9/17/09 supporting the goals and ideals of Peace Day encouraged people in the United States to observe Peace Day, September 21 with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and educational activities, in order to raise awareness of the need for peaceful resolution of conflicts of all kinds.
We request that the White House organize many large scale events annually on September 21 and to celebrate Peace Day as a holiday to spread the ideals of peace throughout the nation and the world.
We request that the one day global truce and one day global cease fire is adhered to on peace day.
