Our elected representatives spend more time fundraising than they do governing - meanwhile, they cry for the need to de-fund so called "entitlement programs". If fundraising is taking up so much of their work time, then the American People should benefit from it.
During the Presidential election, both Romney and Obama raised one billion dollars. This tax would have required them to supplement social programs with $100 million...each. Multiply that by every Congress person and Senator and our "fiscal crisis" improves exponentially.
We endure so much rhetoric and noise during an election cycle - isn't it time we got something good in return?
