In the last few days, after years of suffering terrible economic and political policies, the students of Venezuela have decided to exercise their right of peaceful protest. The government has responded violently against these protest killing at least 3 unarmed students and wounding several others. Many students have been imprisoned and through word of mouth it has been said they're being tortured. Additionally, the government has taken control of all news outlets in the country. The only means of communication is through internet providers and companies such as Twitter. However, these websites are now being blocked by the authorities, taking every mean necessary to practice freedom of speech.
We urge the U.S. Government to support and assist the citizens of Venezuela.
