We call upon the President of the United States to immediately:
1) Issue a statement confirming that constitutionally guaranteed rights supersede local law. These include freedom of speech, assembly, and the press, freedom to petition the government through protests, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, and requirements for probable cause.
2) Issue an executive order prohibiting all federal agencies and representatives from participating in or assisting with the infringement of these rights in any way.
3) Order the Justice Department to immediately begin a federal investigation into incidents where force or violence was used against protesters. If the rights of citizens of this country have been violated, federal charges must be filed against all those involved.
