SUPPORT and PROTECT Venezuela's quest for democracy, separation of powers, human rights and freedom of the press.

Created by C.C. on August 01, 2013

Over the past few weeks, the Venezuelan Government has decided to crackdown on journalists and political activists who don’t share the socialist agenda that is being imposed on the country. Journalists like Miguel Henrique Otero, Nelson Bocaranda, and Leocenis Garcia are currently facing prosecution and seizure of personal accounts and property for reporting widespread corruption and abuses at the highest level of government. Opposition leaders like Maria Corina Machado, Richard Mardo, and Henry Falcon are also facing illegal impeachment procedures, after government lawmakers violated the Constitution and other laws. We urged the White House to deny the renewal of energy agreements until the Venezuelan Government unequivocally commits to its respect for Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom.
