Manning, Assange, Kiriakou, and many others have not compromised anything that put our country in jeopardy. Instead, they brought light to certain government actions that the people have the right to know about. These actions are highly questionable, criminal even, yet the whistleblowers receive punishment because the government has declared it "classified" justifying punishment. The president should kindly say "Thank You" and properly address the issue at hand instead.
This is not the government's country. This is the people's country. Protect, support, and encourage whistleblowers. If the government is afraid of whistleblowers then its time to stop bad practices and start doing things by the book, you know, following the rules, abiding by the law, the laws that the government made.
