A small but vocal minority of fair-weather patriots has rejected the democratic principles upon which our nation is founded. Forsaking our founders' ideal of a government of, by, and for the people, they have demanded that America must either grant them authority over the protesting majority, or else that the Union must be sundered.
This is, obviously, ridiculous - as are those who demand it. However, it cannot benefit civil society to extend the franchise to those who disdain its very purpose. Therefore, the Obama administration is urged to support and sign the Stop Hysterical, Unpatriotic, Treasonous, Useless Pontificating (SHUT-UP) Act, stripping all federal voting rights from any citizen for a period of one year following any public demand for secession.
