We as otaku are tired of being ridiculed for watching anime or loving anime. We're being seen as idiots,devil worshippers, and being mistreated for what we love, just because we're expanding into another culture doesn't mean we should be subject to public lashings. Anime has been around for more than 60 years in this country and has progressed in ways never imagined. I want national otaku day to celebrate with my fellow otaku to show the nation we're not outcasts or weirdos we're people who enjoy who we are and what we love!!
