With our great nation facing over $18 trillion of debt, it is critical for future generations that we reduce our deficit and control federal spending. It is immoral to amass such a deficit and leave the burden of debt to our children and grandchildren.
Each and every family in the United States has to be responsible with their finances and balance their budget. We the people believe our federal government should do so as well. This is not a radical proposal. A balanced budget amendment only states that our government cannot spend more money than what it takes in.
We the people of the United States of America demand that President Obama comes out in support of a balanced budget amendment to bring back fiscal sanity within our federal government.
