support ballot-access petitions being easier to complete by allowing e-signatures online. www.strawforcongress.com

Created by A.S. on May 19, 2012

Only Utah in the United States allows those seeking ballot access to present their signatures when they were collected as e-signatures.

In a few other states, like Indiana at indianavoters.com, voters can register to vote with an e-signature and a driver's license number. This sets an excellent precedent, as collecting ballot-access petitions would be virtually the same procedure. Only registered voters can sign petitions, and this can be verified by a secretary of state on the spot.

Without a government system like indianavoters.com, a person seeking ballot access should be able to collect signatures online. This increases the participation of those with disabilities who can't get out to where people generally collect petitions, and this is more democratic.
