Special Interest Influence in Government Transparency Act (SPIGOT)
To curb institutionalized corruption in the functioning of the government, and restore the ideals of republicanism (impartial rule of law) and democracy (one person, one vote).
The internal apparatus of the government has been corrupted by the influence of powerful special interests whose agenda is often secretive and detrimental to the people. Unless abated, it threatens to undermine the health and viability of the nation. As part of an overall plan to rebuild America’s moral integrity, nothing less than full governmental transparency is required.
We call on the White House to support a bill that would make publicly transparent all legislative, executive, and judicial acts of the government that affect public policy.
