Support a bipartisan, results-oriented, agenda-free approach to curb gun violence.

Created by M.B. on December 17, 2012

Mr. President,
We ask that you support reasonable measures to curb gun violence. Please back a study, not based on what type of weapons could be used to carry out tragic acts of violence (would be too over-reaching under the 2nd amendment), but based on what weapons are unnecessary for any lawful purpose. Do not seek to render people without lawful defense. Step two, give teeth to current gun laws to include mental health in background checks. Step three, back a study of whether or not it would be feasible and prudent to train and arm individuals in places that have become targets of terrible crimes. Total disarmament isn't an option, therefore the discussion must include how to counter an active shooter in as short a time as possible. We seek bipartisanship over agendas in this effort.
