The LGBT community has made great strides worldwide in human rights and deserved acceptance. The Russian government has passed laws restricting LGBT living a normal life in Russia and jails anyone for public displays of disagreement of this law. The Olympic committee is supporting this stance by promising to punish any athlete who supports the LGBT community at the Olympic events. By doing this, the Olympic committee is taking a stand against basic human rights and supporting a Russian government that attacks the LGBT community. I support the United States not participating in the Sochi Olympics and will not watch the Russian Olympics or support any company that contribute directly to the Sochi Olympics.
