Support the call for young people after highschool to participate in national service.

In the spirit of national service for young people fresh out of high school I would like to promote my idea called Eldercare. One option other than the military or teaching could be a two year committment to helping take care of our seniors in nursing homes. These young people would be responsible for bathing residents, escorting them around the facility, go on excursions or trips, or just spend time with them. This issue is especially important to me after I had to make the agonizing decision to place my mother in a nursing home. I was disappointed with the care she sometimes received and I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for young people to give back to the country.
