Support campaign finance reform. Representation should not go to the highest spender or the one with the most money.

Created by J.J. on February 15, 2012

It is shameful that in this proud democracy it is easy to win a seat in Congress or the Presidency simply by raising the most money and spending it all on marketing campaigns to get votes.

Instead of working for their constituants, our representatives are spending most of their time focused on raising money for their and their party's campaigns for election and reelection.

Additionally, lobbyists enjoy too much influence in our government simply because our representatives must follow their requests else the lobbyists will give money to their competition in the next election virtually ensuring they lose.

There are two solutions:
1) Provide publicly funded campaign financing, or
2) Continue to allow all campaign donations but split them all evenly between the candidates.
